Ah, that feeling of discovering a new clothing brand you love everything about: it’s like finding buried treasure. But it’s no easy feat to find those glistening brands between the mess of ads, greenwashing, and general clutter on the internet. So I’m happy to report that if you’ve been looking for vegan clothing brands that give you that treasure trove feeling of excitement, you’re in for a treat.

The search for something like vegan clothing brands can be especially long and frustrating. Where do you start? Are the brands fully vegan? Are the clothes well-made and highly reviewed?

Having personally gone through the *at times truly grueling* process of reviewing hundreds of brands for Florah, I wanted to simplify and clarify this quest for you. Here you’ll find seven vegan clothing brands you’ll wish you’d found sooner. The brands in this post are:

  • Not just vegan, but also sustainable and ethical. Details on that here.
  • Highly reviewed. Because who wants the guesswork?! (For brands that don’t offer reviews on their site, I sought out third party sites with reviews, like Nordstrom & Neiman Marcus.)
  • Perfect in what they offer. As in, if I could choose only one company to buy my [fill in the blank – underwear, fancy wear, coats, etc.] from, it would be the one I’ve outlined here.

Enjoy!

Knickey (V)

For unreal undies

Products: Undies – low-rise thongs, low-rise bikinis, mid-rise hipsters, high rise briefs – in super-usable neutrals with a few brighter options

Prices: $13 per pair

Why they’re the bee’s knees: Knickey is the underwear brand we’ve all been looking for, whether or not we knew it. Their undies are free from chlorine, bleach, formaldehyde and harsh chemicals, and while that feels like it should be a given, it’s actually shockingly far from the norm. Did ya know? The vagina is a complex biome and a super absorptive organ, and the unbreathable, synthetic fabrics and toxic chemicals that are so commonplace in your average underwear are just. not. good. enough. for you or your lady parts. So Knickey created the answer: organic cotton underwear that is breathable, gentle, and free from toxins. So simple, yet so profound. Head over to Knickey and do your thong thang or rock that hipster, sister. You deserve it.

Conscious Step (V)

For the do-gooder socks of your dreams

Products: Nothin’ but socks

Prices: $15 to $45

Why they’re the bee’s knees: These are not your average socks. Not only are Conscious Step’s socks high quality, highly reviewed, and cute as a gosh darn button, but they also better the world! Each sock purchase supports a certain cause, like conserving rainforests, educating children, empowering women, fighting hunger, saving cats & dogs, and many others. And each cause corresponds to the socks’ design, like paw prints for those that help cats and dogs, trees for rainforest conservation, etc. Not only will these babies give your sock drawer some stylish and ethical oomph, they also make for stellar gifts.

Boody (V)

For the comfiest, coziest essentials

Products: Underwear, bras, socks, activewear, bodysuits, tank tops, t-shirts, leggings, loungewear, sleepwear

Prices: $9 to $80

Why they’re the bee’s knees: No matter the season, luxuriously comfortable basics are always a must-have. Boody’s clothing is not just soft and lush, but minimalist, versatile, and ideal for wherever life takes you. Whether you’re on the market for super soft pajamas, loungewear, basics, or activewear, Boody is the bomb. Take a spin around their site and you’ll see what the hype is about… 5 star reviews as far as the eye can see. Their clothing is made from sustainable organic bamboo, so the earth can be just as excited about these Boody goodies as everyone wearing them.

Threads 4 Thought (V)

For colorful essentials and athleisure

Products: Athletic wear (leggings, sports bras, tanks, jackets), tops (tees, tanks, long sleeves), sweatshirts, goodies, shorts, joggers, pants

Prices: $10 to $140

Why they’re the bee’s knees: Though neutral-colored basics are great for their versatility, sometimes you just need a pop of color in the ol’ wardrobe. Threads 4 Thoughts is the perfect provider for that pop – they’ve got an amazing, wide selection of flattering athletic wear and essentials in a broad range of colors. It’s such a treat to be able to find that garment that fits and suits you perfectly, and then to have the option to order it in different colors for different occasions rather than having to start from square one with another piece. Threads 4 Thought is a one-stop-shop for colorful, casual, comfy outfits and workout wear. *NOTE: Threads for Thought does sell leather shoes made by another brand – Veja.

DEDICATED. (V)

For any garment you might want in a fabulous pattern

Products: T-shirts, tops, sweaters, sweatshirts, dresses, pants, shorts, jackets, socks, hats, swimwear

Prices: $39 to $139

Why they’re the bee’s knees: If you need a little stylish whimsy in your closet, DEDICATED will fill the bill. I think it’s fair to say that DEDICATED is one of the most fun vegan clothing brands I’ve come across throughout my research, and they manage to pull off their unique designs without sacrificing wearability; their pieces are super thoughtful and elegant in addition to being on the ‘out there’ end of the spectrum. So if you need a chipper bird shirt, a puffer jacket covered in flora and fauna, or just some brightly striped groovy sweaters, you got ’em.

Blue District (V)

For special occasions

Products: Tops (blouses, sweaters, cardigans), bottoms (pants, skirts), dresses (day, sweater, occasions), bodysuits, rompers, jumpsuits, jackets & coats, swimwear, bralettes, accessories (bags, belts, headwear, sunglasses, shoes, jewelry). What don’t they have?

Prices: $25 to $239

Why they’re the bee’s knees: Blue District, in my mind, is sort of the vegan, ethically-made, eco-conscious version of Forever 21. They’ve got that charming degree of eclecticness (eclecticity? try though she might she can’t seem to make “electric” into a noun with no spelling error). Though Blue District has practically every garment under the sun, in my *humble* opinion their sweet spot is in the semi-formal party wear. They’ve got super cute dresses, tops, and bottoms that are perfect for a boozy brunch, event, evening out, you name it. A lot of their offerings are also more understated than those shown here, and are great for professional wear! Note that some of the materials they use are much more eco-kind than others, so be sure to check what each garment is made from.

Save the Duck (V)

For outstanding outerwear

Products: Puffer jackets, stretch jackets, faux fur jackets, vests, rainwear, athleisure

Prices: $95 to $548

Why they’re the bee’s knees: Look no further for your down-free, vegan winter jacket – Save the Duck is here to save the day. You know those coats you find and get excited about, only to discover that they’re made with down so this winter will be the same as all the rest and you’ll just have to layer like Randy in A Christmas Story to stay halfway warm? No more. Save the Duck makes those swoonworthy coats, with absolutely no animal down. Their designs are gorgeous, and by all reviews I’ve found they are super warm! Save the Duck has a really nice range, so if you’re looking for a raincoat or layering jacket, they’ve got you cozily covered there too.

BONUS: Will’s Vegan Store (V)

For a one-stop vegan shoe shop

Products: Boots (dock, cowboy, work, hiking, chelsea), pumps, loafers, birkenstocks, heels, sandals, sneakers, accessories (wallets, bags, coats, belts, apparel)

Prices: $32 to $197

Why they’re the bee’s knees: Will’s is actually a vegan footwear brand rather than a vegan clothing brand, but including it here means that this post can help you truly dress from head to toe. No matter the season or occasion, Will’s has highly reviewed shoes in practically every style, many of which can be hard to find if you’re looking for shoes that are vegan + eco-friendly + ethically made. If you need versatile fall boots, pumps for an evening out, loafers to class up any outfit… where there’s a Will’s there’s a way 😉
