Guides
Curated collections of the best sustainable, ethical, vegan brands and products
These guides were curated to take the guesswork out of finding products that are better for you, the earth, and animals. They feature brands that deliver high quality offerings, covetable aesthetics, and worthwhile ethics. So when you find yourself on the prowl for a new go-to – be it workout wear, shoes, wine, or a new wallet – you can find something that truly meets your standards. And look good doing it 😉
Two quick notes on these guides
- For traditionally leather-heavy categories like bags and shoes, these guides feature only 100% vegan brands – noted with a (V).
- For categories like activewear and swimwear, brands may be 99% vegan but have a few items made with recycled wool (for example) and thus not be fully vegan. These guides include those brands since they still have many vegan products, and brands that are fully vegan are called out within the guides with a (V).
How are these vegan guides researched?
These vegan guides are research first through Google, and then through deep dives on each brand’s website to understand their ethics, offerings, and reviews. I also use various sites to help round out the research, like Good On You® (an outstanding resource for finding ethical fashion brands), EWG’s Skin Deep® database (fab for clean beauty), and various other similar sites.
By and large, it’s usually pretty clear from a brand’s website how they stack up on ethics. Information on their abstention from animal products, use of sustainable materials, employment of ethical manufacturing practices, etc. should be pretty readily available. If the transparency’s not there, odds are it’s because there’s not much to highlight in the ethics department.
